September 14, 2017 RECOM DIRECTOR JOE BANGS THE DRUM FOR YOUNG CONSTRUCTION PROFESSIONALS IN THE NORTH WEST
Recom director Joe Dillon is playing an active role in a new north west group for young professionals in the construction and built environment sectors.
Joe has joined the committee of Generation 4 Change North West, which was formed in April this year and will stage its launch event in Manchester city centre.
It will take place from 4.30pm-6.30pm on Thursday, September 28 at The Portico Library on Mosley Street. Recom Solutions is co-sponsoring the event with Project Five Consulting Limited.
G4C NW provides networking opportunities and the chance to learn about changes and good practice in the sector, as well as encouraging the next generation into the industry.
The group is a regional division of Constructing Excellence, a membership organisation which works to improve the sector to deliver excellence for clients, the industry and users through collaborative working.
Joe said: “Throughout my career I’ve looked to change the way the construction industry works through innovative practices, and I believe there is great scope for further improvement, especially at a time when the sector is seeing significant growth in the north west.
“The members of G4C NW have a diverse range of jobs, from bid writing, leadership and business development training, project management and construction to law and architecture, and the group provides a tremendous opportunity to really understand how collectively we can make a positive change to the industry.
“Getting together with like-minded professionals is always a positive for any business. It’s great to interact and lay the foundations for future business relationships.”
He added: “As a group, everyone at G4C NW is committed to encouraging new talent into the industry, and we’ll be holding regular sessions with local high schools and education bodies.”
G4C NW is jointly chaired by Olivia Hughes of Project Five Consulting and Johnathan Munkley of WYG.
