Recom Solutions undertook the main contracting of Barrys Bootcamp fit out in the Newly refurbished ABC building in the heart of Spinningfields, working alongside McLaren Construction as an early works package.

This particular project a was fast pace, high end fit out located in an old car park turned retail unit. Due to the units previous use, this refurbishment was very challenging from a Mechanical Design perspective. Also, given the sites central location the logistical aspects of this project required a high level of organisation and scheduling.

The new fit out of the included:

• Mechanical and Electrical design
• Acoustic wall and ceiling construction (80db+)
• Acoustic floor installing including new wearing screed throughout
• Full Mechanical and Electrical works
• Full Mechanical and Electrical works including plant room
• Joinery
• Polished concrete flooring
• 16 No. New showers
• 300m2 of tiling
• New stainless-steel kitchen installs
• 380m2 of tiling
• New stainless-steel kitchen installs
• Bespoke furniture manufacture and install
• Handover and Commissioning

Key issues, managed by Recom Solutions:

• Fast Paced Programme – This project was delivered in only 12 weeks from base build to handover. The mechanical strategy was challenging with limited ceiling or roof plant space available for the AHU and condensers needed for the project. Recoms involvement in the project was only 14 weeks before the handover date with an 800k tender turned around within just 2 days.
• Stakeholder Liaison – Recom Solutions coordinated service installation as well as daily delivery coordination with the landlords main contractor McLaren Construction. Challenging logistics working in the city centre needed to be closely monitored and timed, with on street deliveries proving challenging on a major road within the city centre.
• New Client – New client and fit out contract for Recom Solutions, we ensure we visited each of the existing Barry’s Bootcamp Gyms throughout the UK in the 2 weeks’ notice period prior to commencing on site to ensure expectations were realised. Weekly client meetings throughout the build lead to a smooth and on time completion.
